Kazakh Fellowship: Alpha-Omega. In Dec 2002 we started attending Alpha-Omega Kazakh Church. I served as pastor of this church from June of 2003 until May 20, 2004 when we went home on furlough. The former Kazakh pastor returned from Dallas Theological Seminary to resume his position here. In September of 2004 (when we returned from a 4 month furlough) we began holding Sunday services in our home in Kalkaman. You can read more about that by clicking on the following link. Living Word Bible Church In Kalkaman
These three web pages are a brief history of the year that I served as pastor of Alpha Omega Fellowship.
Pray for Alpha Omega to continue to grow in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ under a new pastor. The church meets in one of the seminaries' classrooms. It meets closer into the city about 20 minutes (10 miles) from our house. We have known 4 of the families in the church since 1999.
Summary. We want the church members to be ministering to each other and those outside the body. Right now, the church does not play the central role in many of our members spiritual lives.
Alpha Omega needs discipleship, good teaching, deeper fellowship and body life, functioning elders, church discipline, members who are serving. These believers didn't grow up knowing any kind of Christianity. They have no experience with how a local church should function and what part it should play in their lives. The traditions, habits, and ways of thinking of the culture and society here would immediately overwhelm Christianity if God did not have His hand in sustaining everything. Or Lord holds everything together and causes growth
Prayer Requests That we will be a praying church That we will be a model church for Kazakhstan That we will minister to each other's needs That more Kazakh believers will attend church. That Kazakh believers will give the church the central role that it has in God's plan. For growth and protection under the leadership of their new pastor. For God to raise up elders in Alpha Omega. | ||
