2002 Changes.  We started our weekly evangelistic lunches again after returning from furlough.   There have been some changes in the 7 months we were away.  Beezoora had to move to another town to live with one of her sons so that she could receive medical care for kidney stones.  Noorzilla still lives next door to us.  Her daughter got married and moved out.  But Rosilla, our good friend from Aral who lived in our apartment/ministry center while we were gone, now lives with Noorzilla.

2003 Summary: Byeram, Mohamed Ali, and Erken have been helping us out in Kalkaman.  Byeram and Mohamed Ali both play the guitar and Kazakh guitar (called a Dombra). We have known Byeram and Mohamed Ali since 1999 when they were attending "Truth" fellowship.  They graduated from a 1 year seminary program in May of 2003.  Eyesha is still cooking for us with help from her sisters and children now and then.  Ira Ida comes about once every 2 months.  Noorzilla (who lives next door), Maria (4th floor), Eyesulu (who washes the 9 story stairway and does painting for us), an elderly couple who live on the 7th floor, and Roozilla are some of the regulars.  Karowbek (Maria's husband), and everyone's children also come fairly often.  In June Byeram started working 4 days a week in Kalkaman.  Since then we have been maxed out every week.  15-20 people attend every week most of them elderly but some are our age or younger.  About 10 are from our building and the rest from the surrounding apartment buildings.

November 2003 Update:  2 more Kazakhs from Kalkaman professed Christ.  Aman Kelduh whose name means "health came" professed Christ on August 15th.  Goolnara professed Christ on September 21st.  Molly is leading a ladies Bible study here in Kalkaman every week.  There are 4 or 5 believers here who have expressed an interest.  Pray that they will come regularly.  We have also started a Tuesday evangelistic meeting for young men and a Wednesday meeting for Seniors who are believers.  We have three of them.  Two are in the photo (below right): Kuderbai (whose name means frequent beloved guest), Sahrat (whose name means "time".  The third is Aman Kelduh.  They are all in their 60s.  We have moved our Friday lunch to 6pm so that it will be after dark during the month of Ramadan.  Pray growth in our new believers and wisdom in shepherding them.

Byeram comes every week to help  us evangelize at our lunches.  Mohamed Ali also helps Byeram conduct a weekly men's evangelistic meeting.

Kuderbai and Sahrat are the first two people in Kalkaman to profess Christ during our ministry.  Salvation is all of God, by faith alone in the Jesus Christ of the Bible alone.  We pray that these men will bring glory to God.  This photo was taken 7/20/2003 the first day they attended Alpha-Omega Fellowship.  Kuderbai is reading His Bible and asking lots of questions.  We pray that he will continue to be a "Berean"  and bear fruit in his life.
