KAIRAT AND HIS SISTER'S FAMILY
Kairat with his older sister and 3 of her children at Lake Kolsai about 30 minutes from Satuh. This resort has rentable cabins and offers camping in 3 surrounding mountain lakes. This is the lake where we were detained by the national security police in 1998. Kairat's sister has lived here for 25 years and runs the lake's cabins and food service. She says this is not and never has been a restricted area. (10/99)
