This page is designed to answer your questions about visiting us or doing short term ministry in Kazakhstan. 

 

We would love to host you for any length of stay.  No matter what time of year you visit or for how long we have both physical and evangelistic work for YOU!  So please consider an internship or just a quick "encouragement" visit  to beautiful Kazakhstan!

 

 

 

We recommend KLM which goes through Amsterdam or BMI which goes through London Heathrow.  Lucy and Amanda paid  $1,400 each (May 10-Aug 10).  But with oil going down maybe airfares will too!

 

Visas: Every traveler needs a visa.  We recommend MTS Travel.  Just e-mail Kim Corwin, and she will send you the form and what you need to do.  Her contact info: Kim Corwin kimc@mtstravel.com. You will need to mail your passports to her and provide a flight itinerary and she will get the visas from the Kazakhstan embassy. Visas cost: $125 each. That's the bad news.

 

Food and Lodging:  The good news is that once people get here they only need money for souvenirs and snacks.  Lodging is FREE at the El Heinzo Ranch and if there are fewer than 6 people you don't have to sleep in the back of our truck. 

Seriously, feeding a few more people here with Molly cooking costs about the same or a little less than it would cost in the USA.  People should not feel like they need to bring money to pay for food with all of the expense they will have just getting here. Besides, whatever it costs us to feed you it's WORTH IT for us to see you!

 

Times to avoid coming:  Nov-Mid March are pretty cold and gloomy.

Best times to come: The absolute best weather is May until the end of June but that is probably true just about anywhere.  The great thing about May here is that it it the only month when the air is perfectly clear. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you come in July, there is a good chance you will be able to attend our yearly trip to the lake and (if we have one) a baptism.

 

We recommend coming for at least a week (two weeks is better) because it takes 3 or 4 days just to adjust to the 11 hour time change.  Coming takes three days but returning you arrive the same day you leave.  So if you leave on a Thursday you get here Saturday morning and you could leave the following Saturday and get back home the same day.  That would give you a week here.  Ten days to two weeks is even better!   

 

Ministry Opportunities:  We invite anyone who is interested to stay from 10 days up to several months and run evangelistic English clubs for Adults.  You will be 100% free to proclaim the Gospel.  We have a partner here that is always looking for people to do this.  They will provide the students.  If you are a college student, you could spend a couple of months doing English clubs here for under $2000.
